Technology at Marlow & Finch

The Technology practice was added in 2017 and has grown steadily since. We work on software development, IT operations, and technical leadership appointments across the South East — primarily for SME and lower-mid-market clients who are too small for the big enterprise recruiters and underserved by London-only specialists.

The realistic shape of the market we serve: regional businesses building modest engineering teams (5-40 engineers), the occasional growth-stage business that’s chosen to base outside London, and the public-sector digital transformation work that runs in the region.

Where we focus

Software developers — mid-level through to senior. Most often full-stack web (TypeScript, .NET, or Python), occasionally specialist roles in mobile or data engineering. We don’t do junior or entry-level roles — there are better-suited specialists.

Technical leadership — Tech Leads, Engineering Managers, Heads of Engineering at SME and lower-mid-market businesses. The most strategically important roles we work on in this practice.

IT operations and infrastructure — Senior systems engineers, IT Managers, Heads of IT. Particularly active in regional businesses where the IT function is small but critical.

Contract and interim — Tech Leads and senior developers on contract, primarily for the public-sector and professional-services work that runs in the region.
